Hello Awesome Third Graders!
Remember, that we have a Zoom meeting today at noon. Please bring something that you have been working on that you would like to share with the class. Maybe it is some poetry, maybe it is your puffin drawing, maybe it is something else. Also, we will be playing a game again! Bring a pencil and some paper! Here is the Zoom link for today's 12:00 meeting.

Here are your distance learning goals for today.

Reading
Check your work from yesterday. Here are the answers to yesterday's Reading Response:

For reading today, please log into Headsprout and plan to spend about 15-20 minutes working on the episodes. When you are done with the episodes, choose one of thee books to read. Use the RECORD button at the top of the screen to record yourself reading the story. We will be able to hear your recording so we can check in on your fluency!

Please let us know if you have any problems. Remember you an email us at 3rdgrade@brownschool.org.

Afterward, you can use the rest of the reading time to continue to do free reading (or mystery books). Please fill out the Reading Log Form after you finish so that we can be kept up-to-date with what awesome books you are reading!

Writing
Today you will be asked to write two limericks.  I have included some information below to help you remember how to write a limerick.  I have also included two limerick examples.  Please make sure that you have your best limerick ready to share with the class on Wednesday.

Math
For math today, you will be doing your end-of-module assessment for Module 5. Please find this assessment in the packet that we sent home. When you are done, please have an adult at home take a photo or scan your work and send it to us at 3rdgrade@brownschool.org so we can see how you did.

If you have extra time, you can log into Zearn or Reflex for some extra practice.

Grammar
Today you are learning about adjectives. Adjectives describe or tell about a noun. They are a great way to add information to your writing!

Without adjectives:I saw a cat in the grass.

With adjectives:I saw a fluffy black and white cat in the tall, green grass.

Adjectives help to paint a picture in a reader's mind! Read the LEARN section on page 120 in your grammar book to learn about some different ways adjectives can be used. Then, complete pages 120-123, parts A, B, C and D.

BONUS

Do you remember the people from Uncharted Wild who visited Brown School in the past who brought cool animals for us to see? Here is a reminder of last year's visit where some friends were holding a very large snake!

Well, they can't visit this year but they are going to do a mini live-stream show tonight at 6:00 PM! I know some of you watched the Jester Jim show live the other week, so I hope to see many of you at the Uncharted Wild show tonight, too!
