Hello Wonderful Third Graders!
Today is the first day that we will have the Zoom Room open during the day! If you have any questions for us, need help with an assignment, or just want to stop in and say hello to break up your day, pop into the Zoom Room anywhere between 10:45 and 11:15 this morning! The password is the same password we have been using for the past few weeks!
Here are your distance learning goals for today.
Reading
Check your work from yesterday. Here are the answers to yesterday's Reading Response:
Today, I would like you to do the last two pages in your packet.
🦉On the Vocabulary page, you will need to look back through the stories and find some words that you didn't know or that you may not have known really well. Using context clues, write a definition for each word, then fill in the columns for synonym/antonym and illustrate the word. Remember, a synonym is a word that means the same thing (tall, high) and an antonym means the opposite (tall, short).
🦉On the back page of the packet, you will compare two of the stories with a Venn Diagram. Remember that the part where the circles overlap is where you put the things that are similar, and the rest of the circle is for things that are only true about one story. When filling this out, you can think of story elements such as characters, setting, and plot, or you can think about elements of mystery stories that you've been learning about.

Afterward, you can use the rest of the reading time to continue to do free reading (or mystery books). Please fill out the 🦉Reading Log Form after you finish so that we can be kept up-to-date with what awesome books you are reading!
Math
For math today, please watch this video of Lesson 4 where you will see Mr. Duane talking you through the main idea of the lesson. You will be working with graphs again today, but you'll be doing some one and two-step word problems with them! 🦉After watching the video, please complete the problem set. I will post the answers to the problem set tomorrow. You do not need to do the homework unless you'd like some extra practice. If you finish with extra time, you can play Reflex or Zearn.
