We hope you had a great Monday to start off our week of school! Remember, that you can always reach us at 3rdgrade@brownschool.org if you need help. That email address is also for you to send us all of your fantastic work. We look forward to seeing everything that you're doing! Here are your distance learning goals for today!
Reading
When you are reading a mystery, you sometimes get to that moment where you find a solution and it totally surprises you! When that happens, it is important to think back over the clues you found. Ask yourself:
- Were they real clues or were they red herrings?
- Were there other clues that I missed?
- Sometimes, clues are hidden right there in the middle of the action. The author gets you so excited that you pay attention to the action and you miss the clues!
- Authors hide clues in dialogue, jokes or descriptions of the characters sometimes! You think you're just reading the story, not even suspecting that a clue is hidden right there!
- As readers, sometimes you have to try to connect details to figure out the clues!
Now, listen to Mrs. Bryant reading chapters 4 and 5 of Whodunit Detective Agency. As you listen, see if you can find hidden clues!
Math
For math today, please watch this video of Lesson 25 where you will see Mr. Duane talking you through the main idea of the lesson. Today you are going to be learning about fractions where the denominator is 1. After watching the video, please complete the problem set. The answers to the problem set will be posted on Wednesday. You do not need to do the homework unless you'd like some extra practice. If you finish with extra time, you can play Reflex or Zearn.
